Biography
Diana is a mother & certified as an Ayurvedic practitioner, a yoga teacher & a doula.
In the last 14 years, Diana has studied within the Integral, Iyengar and Mysore yoga traditions. She trained to teach yoga under the tutelage of Sri Louise in 2003, and completed the Underground Yoga Parlour for Self-Knowledge and Social Justice Exalt Teacher Training in January 2004. Since then she has received over 1000 hours of additional training in yoga & Ayurveda.
Diana received her diploma as an Ayurvedic Diet & Lifestyle Counselor in July 2008 from Mount Madonna Institute, College of Ayurveda. She later received her Ayurvedic Practitioner's Certification from MMI (Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. John Douillard, Dr. Sarita Shrestha) in September, 2009 which included internship and externship work under the supervision of Dr. Annambhotla Shekhar. Her clinical experience includes, but is not limited to, nervous system disorders, digestive imbalance, women's health issues, sexually trasmitted diseases, depression, smoking, respiratory disease, hypothyroidism, weight loss, arthritis, IBS & insomnia.
Diana is also a birth doula. She discovered a passion for supporting women through labor, delivery & post-partum recovery
when she began to work as a lay birth doula in 2005 at the San Francisco General Hospital. Under the tutelage
of Earth Lande & midwife Elizabeth Davis, she received formal
training at the Natural Birth Institute of San Francisco. She studies and educates on the natural progression of pregnancy, prenatal yoga and attends birthing women & new mothers throughout the Bay Area. Diana gave birth to her own son in June of 2009.
Diana's yoga classes are dynamic and nurturing, with
special attention to alignment principles, vinyasa energetics and
restoration. She also puts emphasis on doing yoga from the "inside out", by including sanskrit chanting practice with her students.
Diana lectures and teaches workshops on Ayurveda & pre/post natal yoga. She is a staff instructor for both Purusha
Yoga advanced teacher trainings, and Greenpath Yoga teacher trainings.
Diana’s mission is to provide direction for those wanting to develop a self-supporting, authentic and holistic lifestyle, yoga practice or birthing experience; and ultimately to find FREEDOM.
